My Dog Can’t Jump by David Lane is a heart-warming picture book for young children. One day a young boy visits the animal shelter, hoping to find a furry best friend. He comes across a fluffy little dog that is extremely nervous. After hearing that the little dog has been abused by the previous owners, the boy immediately decides that he’s the one to adopt. Upon arriving home with the dog, the boy realizes that he has a lot of work to do in building trust and friendship with him. Although the little dog has many flaws, the boy doesn’t see it that way. He accepts the little dog as he is and continues to help and support him through his struggles. Does your dog have something that makes it unique too?
My Dog Can’t Jump has a storyline that will touch the heart of any young reader. The book teaches a beautiful message to children about how you should accept people for who they are regardless of their differences. Whether they have a disability or quirky fashion sense, everyone may be different but should be treated equally. The illustrations by the talented Caleb McBee are adorable and will attract the attention of anyone reading this book. The little dog was my favorite! David Lane and Caleb McBee make an awesome team and I hope they work together again. Congrats on the book, I’m sure it will a huge hit with children.
