My Brother Who Taught Me To Fly by C. Brookins is the adorable story of a little boy whose life is changed forever by his brother's act of kindness. One summer afternoon, the little boy, his sister, and brother are in the living room waiting for dinner to be done. Their mom always puts their baby brother in the play pen so that she can cook dinner without him getting in her way, and their baby brother always tries to get out of the play pen to be with his brother and sister. He is not able to get out because the sides of the pen are high. One day something unexpected happens when their mother is cooking and their father is sitting at the table and reading the Bible. This is a learning curve for the older brother. What does he learn from his baby brother?
My Brother Who Taught Me To Fly is a story with a beautiful message for young readers - Never give up! The story also encourages readers to keep trying till they accomplish their goals, just like the big brother in the story.
