Murder Under A Full Moon by Abigail Keam is book 7 in the 1930s Mona Moon Historical Cozy Mystery series. Mona Moon is lunching with Eleanor Roosevelt at the White House and, while there, she wants to do some sightseeing. But two men who worked for Moon Enterprises are brutally murdered and Mona wants to know why. Then she is approached and asked to spy for the government but she’s not interested until she finds Moon Enterprises locked in a battle for power. Really, all she wanted was a nice life – running Moon Enterprises and marrying Lord Farley – but everything is against her now. She’s left having to make a tough choice; do her duty and turn her back on Lord Farley or go ahead with the marriage and do business with whomever she wants, potentially putting her country in danger? It’s a hard choice and Mona has a challenging year ahead of her.
Murder Under A Full Moon by Abigail Keam is a quaint 1930s mystery story, part of a series that I have not read. However, I didn’t find it difficult to read this book, even having no prior knowledge of the characters. It’s an easy read, a light-hearted tale of mystery and suspense with lots of action and a unique plot. The characters are well-developed and very likable and the manner of writing instantly transports you to the 1930s. The story is well-told, easy to follow, and a nice way to forget about real life for a while. The author has clearly researched the time period and has given us a sassy, forthright female lead who is a joy to know. Although I found this easy to read as a standalone, I would urge any reader to start at the beginning of the series to get a truer picture.
