Davon Miller was born April 23, 2002 in St. Petersburg, Florida. As an infant, Davon was diagnosed with severe asthma, which forced him at times to be in and out of All Children’s Hospital. But Davon and his parents are very thankful that God healed him.
Davon began writing at a very young age. Davon started writing at the age of seven. Back then, he was so in love with his favorite shows that he wanted to immerse himself in those adventures that he watched on television. He instantly began creating his own adventures for them on paper. After creating stories of his favorite shows, Davon wanted to create his own original stories. Davon thought long and heard about his story. Finally, he had it! In 2013, a new book (series) was in the works for Davon. After looking up at the clock wondering when it was time to go home (in middle school), Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock was born which was soon published in spring of 2014 at the age of eleven. With the first book being "Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock: Goodnight Mr. Clock". Soon after, two more books were published in the series. Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock: Clockworker David was published in February of 2015 and Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock: The Travel to Washington was published February 2016. The books of Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock are designed to show the importance and how much fun reading can be! Davon has gotten praise on the books and has been traveling around having book signings and reading to children.

Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock travels across the United States of America in Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock: The Travel to Washington by Davon Miller. Little Ricky hears the doorbell and, on opening the door, he is given a huge package. Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock opens the heavy package and to his surprise finds a black and white puppy, an orange kitten, a green parrot, and a gray baby elephant inside. The animals step out of the box and start going wild. It is time to take the animals to their home. Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock boards the train and readers get to see them traveling across the U.S.A. before they reach Washington D.C. by rail, road, and foot.
The story takes readers on an exciting journey through different states of the U.S.A. and introduces them to famous landmarks. I like the concept of helping children learn about the different states in the U.S.A. through this interesting journey along with Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock and the animals. The crayon sketches are wonderful and they make the story very appealing to children and will help them to connect better with the author’s words and concept. The sketches also make the landmarks palpable to readers and they become familiar with Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, and other famous landmarks easily. It is a good story to help children learn about the landmarks and states of the U.S.A. in an engaging and fun way. The book is full of surprises for young readers and it is a good story that can be used in classrooms for interactive learning sessions.
