Morgan is absolutely certain that what happened to her friends is a terrible and highly tragic accident. After all, who would purposely target three young adults who were doing nothing more than looking for animals in a nature preserve? So when she decides to travel out to their last known location to finish the research (and possibly learn more about their deaths) she’s certain there’s no danger to her. Of course, convincing her father of that is impossible so he hires a sexy ex-special ops body guard to watch over his precious daughter. What happens between them however is far more than he ever could have expected in Morgan’s Hunter by Cate Beauman.
This story definitely fascinated me from beginning to end. Hunter and Morgan live such entirely different lives from each other and from what you would expect, given their place in life. After all, Morgan is filthy rich but prefers to spend her days slogging through the back country with wild animals. Hunter, on the other hand, is a bodyguard who’s often paid to watch out for girls from her circle of life as they head to salons and shopping trips. They’re definitely not prepared for each other but it’s interesting when the two come together.
I loved the way that these two individuals had so many flaws and so many problems coming together but they managed to overcome it all in the end. It was amazing how they managed to set aside their differences (which made them seem like real people instead of just fictional people on a page) and make sacrifices to be together. Morgan’s Hunter is a great story of romance and intrigue that will keep you on your toes throughout.
