Seraphine, often just called Sera, is the main character of the supernatural novel Mistress of the Crossroads by Kayci Reid. She has looks to die for and is immortal. But her supervisor is a bitch from hell - literally in this case because Herrah does indeed work for hell. Sera's job is to seduce people into selling their souls to the devil. She makes them irresistible offers and, so far, nobody has ever been able to say "no" to Sera. She's the best at her job, and she knows it. What makes her different from other servants of hell, however, is that she still has her own soul, and would love to hang on to it for longer. Herrah gives her a task that is almost impossible and, in the end, this task is so important that there can be no failure. Herrah threatens Sera with losing her soul and torturing it forever.

I found the plot of Mistress of the Crossroads by Kayci Reid rather interesting, but can't give away too many details because of spoilers. It's difficult to explain why I liked the plot without giving any of the surprises away. There definitely were some "Oh, I did not see that coming" moments. There are quite a few minor characters next to Sera and they are all very interesting as none of them is a normal human being. There is a Berserker who basks in his glory as a wrestler. There's a Fury who truly enjoys punishing cheating men, and there's a Jinn, who seems to have more power than he is supposed to have. A rather interesting mix of characters, for sure! It's the kind of mix that would be great for a TV series. I enjoyed reading this book and had a few hours of great entertainment!
