Miracle At Coffeeville by Darrell Case is a compilation of seven short stories that take place during the Christmas season. Each story provides a glimpse of how God works His magic in the lives of ordinary people. From the story of a postman who has lost all that he holds dear and contemplates ending it all until he realizes that he is still needed, to the story of a cantankerous lady living in a nursing home and the change of heart she has, we see how God truly works little miracles in the lives of people every day. The Christmas Mirror is the story of a man who loses his wife too soon but a magic mirror allows him to see her one last time. Snow Angels is the story of Abigail and her brother Buddy - when something happens to Buddy, Abigail prays for a miracle and has the faith that it will happen. In Music of the Night we meet a woman who loses the ability to play the music she loves and watch how God restores her.
Each story in Miracle At Coffeeville touched my heart and reminded me of the true meaning of Christmas. This unique grouping of stories held my interest and kept me reading. When I finished one story I had to read the next because each story was like a special gift I couldn't wait to unwrap. I wasn't sure what the story would reveal, but I knew it would be inspiring! Mr. Case certainly captures the essence of the magic of God's love and, while we expect miracles at Christmas, I think this book would be a wonderful faith restorer any time of the year.
