Mid-Summer Nights, Dreams, and Consequences by Holmer Johnson is a collection of poems that were dreamed up during a hot summer in 2013, according to the author. The author has included many issues in his poetry such as politics, love, relationships and life in general. Some of the poems are from his time in college, which I think people can relate to, especially anyone who experiences similar circumstances.
Casting the Moonlight in My Mind is a good poem, as is The Shadowy Mistress. Some of the poems are about mistakes being made in life. I think it is always a good idea to be honest about mistakes you have made, both to yourself and to other people. By being honest you can own your mistakes and deal with them. Too many people don't do this.
Holmer Johnson has put a lot of heart into these poems in Mid-Summer Nights, Dreams, and Consequences. They are a personal account of his life. There is a mixture of the abstract and real life included here.
That Word is a very insightful and powerful poem that I think will really speak to people.
That word you cannot say,
Because your skin is too light,
Reveals that they did not educate you,
Because you added an extra "g",
A "g" that is not needed.
In the language of its origin,
It just means a color.
The poems are well laid out and written. I think this book will do very well on the market and that the author has a lot of talent.
