Meet Me at Our Tree! Pachamama Shares Her Amazon Rainforest is a children’s picture book by Sandra C Morse and Sister Judy Bisignano, with illustrations by Cláudia Gadotti. The Pachamama (Mother Earth) shares the importance of everything that lives and thrives in the Amazon Rainforest through this conversational story. Every animal plays an important part in the ecosystem, as does every species of tree. The nutrition in the soil and the abundant oxygen are balanced perfectly by Pachamama. Mother Earth only asks for a little help from humans to maintain the delicate balance between the forest, the wildlife, and the people by asking us to plant saplings that will grow into trees.
Meet Me at Our Tree! is an insightful and inspiring story that will teach children about the fragile balance of nature in the rainforest and with the people that live nearby. I loved the conversational style of the story because it made me feel as if Pachamama was speaking directly to me as I read. The illustrations are beautiful and give the narrative a serene feel. This book will educate children on the importance of the balance of nature, and how we can give back something by planting trees. I recommend this story to children of an age to comprehend, and I am certain they will love the pages after the conclusion that teach them how to plant trees and the way to care for them. I enjoyed this thought-provoking tale and hope that Sandra C Morse and Sister Judy Bisignano will team up with Cláudia Gadotti again to create more stories as fun and educational as this one.
