Martin Luther King Junior was born Michael King Junior on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents were African-American and his great-grandfather was Irish. He enjoyed listening to music and he sang in the church choir. He was six and he was excited about going to school with his best friend who was a white boy. His friend was going to a school that was only for whites and Martin Luther King Junior was going to a school that was only for black boys. He did not like the way black people were treated by some white people. In college, he decided he wanted to serve humankind. He encouraged blacks to protest peacefully so that everyone could live in a nation where they would not be judged by the color of their skin. He won the Nobel Prize in 1964 for fighting against racial inequality.

This is a good book to have in school libraries and at home in personal collections to teach children about history, and the famous characters who make a difference to the society, in an interesting way.
