In Marshmallow Rabbit by Lois Wickstrom, Mr. Bonbon owned a chocolate factory and allowed people to come in and tour the place. Annabelle, a sneaky little girl, loved Mr. Bonbon’s tours. Annabelle would go in with the crowd every time she went and steal as much candy as she could before leaving the factory. Mr. Bonbon knew what the little girl was up to and came up with an idea to stop her from swiping his delicious treats once and for all. What could Mr. Bonbon do to finally put a stop to the thievery? Would his plan go well, or would it backfire? Will Annabelle find a way to get out of the punishment, or will she lose the privilege of going to the candy factory altogether?

I loved the mischievous story of Marshmallow Rabbit. The characters were fun and clever, and each one added a unique layer to the plot. I enjoyed how this story also encourages the idea of the punishment fitting the crime. Janet King's illustrations are beautiful and just as fun and entertaining as the story. I recommend this picture book by Lois Wickstrom to young readers who enjoy a fast-paced, mischievous tale they won’t be able to put down. I hope that Wickstrom and King team up for future stories that are this much fun and teach valuable life lessons to children. I am sure that this mindful tale will be one that kids will want to read again and again.
