This is the story of Mr. B and Mrs. B with their six cats that changed and rule their lives without end. Somehow Mr. B is convinced a feline revolution is in the making; he is surrounded with feelings of distrust, a number of sleepless nights and jigsaw destruction, whilst Mrs. B is surrounded by love and fondness. Written by Donna and David M. Brown, Man vs Cat is a hilarious journey of a couple that is owned by their cats.
I love cats but keeping six felines in the house? No. Two is my limit. At least that way I consider myself as a responsible master who is making sure that the cat has at least one feline friend. Man vs Cat; the title seems to imply that author David M. Brown is a prisoner in his own house because of his cats. That does not seem to be case as I detected a proud fatherly tone in his writing from the start, until the part where the cats have their own meeting that is. On the other hand, Donna Brown, aka Mrs. B, is just a patient mother that can tolerate her feline children. She able to produce Zen-like calmness again and again whenever there is trouble concerning the cats.
I would have to say Mr. Kain is my favorite. He is like the gentleman version of cat in the house. I’m quite fond of Bilbo and Frodo too. All in all, a hilarious and entertaining read for cat lovers.
