In a fun and fast paced romp through London, England, and New Jersey, of all mismatched places, readers will be taken on a humorous journey that many will relate to in author Maureen Nevin's novella, Make My Christmas: Flying Books Book One. Follow the story of our protagonist, Charlotte O'Rourke, as she returns home to visit her daughters and granddaughter for the holidays. Charlotte has many hopes for what Christmas will bring, but when she arrives, she realizes that things may not quite live up to what she has planned. But what does happen is entertaining from the get-go, and will have readers laughing and turning the pages from the very first words.
I very much enjoyed Make My Christmas. Author Maureen Nevin has done a great job in creating characters that her readers will be able to connect with and enjoy, and will have them giggling out loud at some of the zany complications she throws in. Readers with complicated families of their own will certainly get a kick out of this story. It's short length is perfect for those times when you want an amusing little read to pick you up, and you'd like to read it all at once. Readers who enjoy funny, family based stories with unforgettable characters would love Make My Christmas. I am pleased to recommend this book, and look forward to reading more of this story from author Maureen Nevin, as she does plan to continue it in a longer novel.
