Maggie’s Encore: A Heart-Warming Tale of a Music-Loving Shelter Dog by Danielle LaRosa is a beautiful picture book for children. Encore the singing and dancing dog lives in a shelter and dreams of finding his forever home. But Encore isn't like any other dog, and this makes it difficult when trying to find an owner who will adopt him. Days come and go, with new people coming to look for their lifelong pet, but never Encore; he was simply just too loud for them. Despite no one being interested in adopting him, Encore never let it change who he was because he loved and believed in himself. One day, a young girl approaches Encore’s cage. Will this little girl be the one Encore has been dreaming about? Find out in this adorable book.
Maggie’s Encore is certainly a tear-jerker. From the moment I began reading about the character Encore and his story, I had tears in my eyes. This is a beautifully-written story that children are going to love and learn from. It radiates self-love and inspires the reader to never give up on their dreams. Daniella LaRosa is an incredible children’s author; I love her imagination and the way she can pull the reader in from the very first page. The illustrations by the talented Ananta Mohana are eye-catching and bring the characters alive. I can’t recommend this wonderful book enough. So if you have a child who could do with a confidence boost, then this book will be perfect for doing that. Keep up the great work, Daniella and Ananta. I hope you both work together again in the future. Stay creative!
