There are so many amazing gems of wisdom, leadership examples, and applicable lessons available to leaders and aspiring leaders in Luminary Leadership: How Top Entrepreneurs Lead in Business and in Life by Leaders Press. In one collection, international leaders from varied industries and backgrounds share their leadership lessons obtained through their personal and professional experiences. There are CEOs, entrepreneurs, consultants, professional coaches, physicians, teachers, strategic communicators in the digital world, and wellness experts, all sharing their leadership secrets which they learned throughout their life. Each chapter feels like they are sitting down with you personally and sharing their wisdom to make you a better leader. The book is very timely, sometimes speaking about leadership in a post-pandemic world.
The book is well organized into four parts consisting of Beginnings, Teaming, Mindsets, and Forward. Given the nature of the topic, it is common that elements of one part are also included in another as well, especially when the writer speaks about their beginnings as a leader (which often appears in all four parts). Though early influences influenced most of the authors, it was their experiences and lessons learned that had the greatest impact on their life as a leader. The lesson that you only fail if you do not learn from it and label it as such was abundant throughout the collection. Luminary Leadership was very inspiring for me as a reader, college instructor, and leader in my managerial role. I was inspired by this wonderful collection of essays by leaders showing there are some very common threads that all leaders can utilize, especially continuous learning. There are so many amazing stories and applicable lessons available to anyone interested in becoming a more effective leader in their personal and professional life. This is truly a treasure chest of knowledge, wisdom, and leadership lessons available to all that wish to move themselves to the next step in their professional journey.
