We all know that work place romances have a tendency to end badly more often than not, and when Lost on the Road to Love hit my e-reader, I knew this was going to be a story full of feels. Chelsea Morrison, of the I Want Morrison series, works on a well known travel show behind the scenes in the hectic world of production. But then he walks in. Henry Rushton, star of her teenage dreams and fantasies, walks onto set and he is larger than life, better than she ever could have anticipated. For his part, Henry is immediately interested. Maybe not romantically interested, but author Kay Harris makes it clear that he is definitely interested, much to the chagrin of the catty socialite co-starring on the show.

Somewhere between San Francisco and New Orleans, Chelsea and Henry form a friendship that’s both fun to watch and kind of frustrating because they are so clearly into one another and you just want to say, “get on with it!” But that would be rude, so I quietly read and waited for the moment I knew where Lost on the Road to Love was leading. The feels. Kay Harris does a great job of portraying the emotions, particularly jealousy. It’s palpable and at times I even felt anxious reading because of all the tension, and I mean that in the best way possible. This story was well written, engaging, and even when I was angry or frustrated with a character or a circumstance, I still wanted to read more and know more. That, to me, is a mark of a very good author.

Lost on the Road to Love is a contemporary romance novel written by Kay Harris. Chelsea was stunned when she saw him walk into the room. Henry Rushton had been her teenage crush ever since she saw his picture in one of her older brother’s music magazines. He was the son of mega rock star, Sean Rush, and looked somewhat like a younger, slighter version of the famous musician. They would be working together on a project for Trek, the cable channel where Chelsea worked as a camerawoman. It was a travel channel, allowing her the freedom to live at a distance from her job and the opportunity to see the world. Chelsea’s dream was to be a filmmaker and, fresh from college, her job was giving her the hands-on experience to make that dream a reality. Now, however, she had to figure out how to work with Henry -- without losing her heart in the process.

Kay Harris’s contemporary romance novel, Lost on the Road to Love, is a delightful and slightly offbeat comedy of errors starring two strong, compelling characters whose instant friendship and easy camaraderie might well be the start of something much more. As well as enjoying Chelsea's and Henry’s stories, the reader also gets to enjoy some armchair travel adventures as the stars and film crew do their shoots in Europe, England and the Americas. The story is brilliant, and the author’s writing style is perfectly suited for this smart and funny romance. I found this book impossible to put down until I had reached the last page. Lost on the Road to Love is most highly recommended.

Lost on the Road to Love is the second book in the I Want Morrison romance series, written by Kay Harris. Chelsea Morrison works behind the camera, filming whoever her next assignment might be. When Henry Rushton appears on set, Chelsea cannot believe her eyes. Henry had been her first super-crush as a teenager, yet here he was, larger than life and starring alongside socialite Tyressa James. Henry feels drawn to Chelsea after she stands up to Tyressa for mocking her blandness and questions her sexuality. Chelsea and Henry become the best of friends, but when a twinge of jealousy sparks between them, will Henry risk losing Chelsea after discovering his true feelings for her? Told from two different points of view, both Chelsea and Henry tell their stories as heartbreak threatens any possible romance between them.

This is the first ‘next generation’ romance series I have ever read, and I was very excited to read it from incredible literary talent Kay Harris – author of the Love on Tour series, which is alluded to throughout the I Want Morrison series. All of the ingredients are blended to bring about the perfect love storm, as jealousy seems to constantly erupt in perfect timing. As Chelsea pours her heartbreak out to her brother, Jack, Henry asks for Sean’s help to figure out where he’d gone wrong. The literary spark within me almost started a bonfire of excitement at the mention of the band, Chrome. The interaction between all of the characters, whether good or bad, kept me invested emotionally in all that transpires between them. Lost on the Road to Love is the perfect balance of everything you would find in a well-written tale, and I so much look forward to reading the next book in the series. I wholeheartedly recommend Lost on the Road to Love to fans of the Love on Tour series, to heart-wrenching romance lovers, and to a love which is destined to be.
