In Los Angeles: A City of Fame by Vlasov Andrey, the author captures the beauty of the place in some stunning images. Los Angeles is one of the biggest and most famous cities on the west coast of the United States, and the photographs in this book speak volumes about the city’s charm, beauty, culture, places of interest, and everything that makes the city what it is. The pictures speak about the city’s traffic jams, skyscrapers, museums, beaches, food, and many other exciting places that will make readers want to travel to Los Angeles and visit and explore what the author has shared in his book. By the time readers finish checking out all the pictures, they will realize that the city is not just about mountains, beaches, and waterfalls; it is also a place where dreams come true, where life is busy yet slow paced, and can be glamorous and also appear disheveled.
I like the author’s idea of making his pictures do all the talking instead of describing. Every picture has something interesting to tell readers. The author has a great eye when it comes to capturing images and these are clear and gorgeous. I know now, sitting at home, what Los Angeles looks like and I know where I will go first when I visit Los Angeles. My favorite pictures are in the section called The Centre - Glendale, Los Angeles, and North Hollywood - as I find the images there very fascinating. Travel books are more appealing if they are like this; pictorial and glamorous.
