Little Miss Fortune is Sans Emmert's theory about the infamous JonBenét Ramsey murder mystery. Damon is a man haunted by past family secrets that eventually led to the suicide of his father. An inherently creative person, he pursues a career as a budding writer, eager to make his mark through a screenplay that slowly starts taking over his life. Damon, madly in love with his vixen wife, Deidre, and their newborn son, has difficulty getting over Deidre's teenage affair with an older married millionaire, whose shadow hangs over their marriage. As their relationship deteriorates due to Deidre's obstinate pursuit of her ideal life, Damon throws himself into revenge against the man he believes stole his happiness.
Fans of villain origin stories or psychological thrillers featuring antagonists as the principal protagonists will find Little Miss Fortune right up their alley. Little Miss Fortune is unabashedly brutal and unflinchingly dark. Sans Emmert's narrative is certainly not for the faint-hearted. Yet it has a sense of unique originality that is bound to engage mature readers who love unpredictable stories that throw curveballs until the end. The characters are deeply flawed and commit terrible acts in pursuing their selfish desires. But readers will be compelled and entertained by their twisted motives and actions, however revolting. Overall, this tale is a treat for anyone who enjoys thrillers.
