Lethally Blonde by Patrice Lyle is a brilliant story about sixteen-year-old Morgan Skully. The only blonde demon in existence, Morgan is a typical girly teenager who is obsessed with clothes sold in Dante’s and the colour pink. One day she is forced to become a spy for the Devil, based on a pact Morgan’s dad made with him before he passed away. At first this seems daunting, but with a little help from her friends, Sienna and Zelda (or the Demon Divas as they are known), and her own intuition, the three of them try to find out which teacher at Pitchfork Prep School is working with the Werewolves and betraying the Demons - it's not easy as their investigations soon reveal more than one suspect. On top of this, Morgan has to juggle overcoming enemies, teenage drama, and love with the sexy quarterback Derek, whilst trying not to fantasize about the Devil himself. Will Morgan be able to complete the task set by the Devil and win Derek’s heart in time?
Lethally Blonde has a lot of twists and turns that you don’t see coming and it is full of so much humour and wit that I didn’t want to put the book down. I like that it represents how difficult teenage life can be, which is something people can relate to through Morgan and her friends, and that even when the odds are against them, it shows they can still overcome everything when they work hard. It is very well written and I love Morgan's fiery attitude and how caring and adorable she can be; it is so worth reading. Thank you, Patrice Lyle, for making my day with this book. I loved it!
