Teresa Sue McAdams writes of her memories of being young, of being forced to take piano lessons, of wanting both Barbie and Ken dolls for Christmas and of going to the 4th of July fireworks. She gives her viewpoint, her philosophy, on her relationship with her parents, especially her mother who had stifled her own creative bent and had taken on the duties of a wife at home back in the days following World War II. But it is in this book's last sections as author McAdams writes of her beloved cats, J.C., Michelle, Pierre, Robin Hood and current Siamese Thai and Lily, that readers will really sit up and read and reread every word in this exceptional book.
"Lessons: The Wisdom Within Each Moment" has Teresa Sue McAdams sharing with the reader key messages such as: "If you feel that something isn't right, the Universe will give you every opportunity not to pursue it". Her words do motivate us when she tells of the "wicked witch" of her childhood neighborhood: "Sometimes it helps to have compassion when you know a person acts the way they do". The "wicked witch" had lost her fiance in World War II and she never had a chance to marry and bear his children. And when she shares her stories of her beloved cats and their antics, readers who are cat lovers or just animal lovers in general will clamour to own, read, and cry over every word in this story, finding the wisdom within each tale that the author shares. Teresa McAdams's philosophical viewpoint is her own. Readers will love or at the least appreciate her words.
