He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mount Union and a masters degree in public administration from the University of Akron. Using the Bible as his source of well-presented perspectives, Monroe explains how agape love, a type of love where the other party is free from the obligation of doing something in return and that goes beyond ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds, can be a solution to the bitterness, hatred, pain, and suffering so prevalent in the 21st century. The author also takes a closer look at American history and discusses how love can be the solution to the racial and political tensions that prevail in the nation today.

Using straightforward language, the work also covers the role that love can play in diminishing the chaos in our society today.
