Lauren Played by Margaret Lynette Sharp is a short romantic story. Lauren is 16 years old and heartbroken after her first love has walked away from her. Their relationship was short but sweet and she thought it was forever. It wasn’t to be and when he walks away, he leaves her bereft and empty. Time passes and, as she approaches 17, she meets someone else. Lauren should be able to move on, to enjoy life, but she isn’t quite ready to let her first love go. Will her memories of Rob haunt her forever, or can she let him go and move forward with her life?
Lauren Played by Margaret Lynette Sharp is a delightfully poignant short story. It is written with real depth and feeling, and is full of emotion. The way it has been written brings the story to life in your mind, allowing you to play it out and feel the emotions for yourself. More than just a story, it touches on real-life happenings – first love, young love, and doubt, all things that young people go through at some time in life. The story flowed very well and Ms. Sharpe’s development of the characters, especially Lauren, was excellent. I really felt like I knew her personally and could identify with her. I believe that this is a story for anyone; adults who can reminisce back to the heady days of their first loves and young people who are going through it all now. Fabulous story, and I loved the ending!
