'L _ _ _ - A poetic study of relationships,' compiled and edited by Dane Swan, is a collection of poems penned by different poets. Dane Swan has gathered up various poems that investigate relationships. You can read all types of poetry in this collection - from experimental poetry to Gothic to urban verse to prose poetry. The poets are also from diverse backgrounds, including slam poets, performance poets etc. Each one's unique vision adds to the compelling voice of the collection. These are contemporary poems.
I enjoyed this anthology. It is always interesting to read a book where the poems are written by different poets. That gives the poems a different vibration and energy because of the varied writing styles and the perspective with which they visualize a scene or emotion and put it down on paper. The underlying theme in this collection is that of relationships. It is nice to read the interpretation of each poet on this topic and how each one views it. A few of my favorites in this anthology are 'Nostalgia' by Jeannine Pitas; 'Moonlight on the Introvert' by Michelle Darby; and 'The New Maple' by Lisa Young. All the other poems are also well penned with wonderful emotions and imagery breezing through them. 'Things I've Lost' and 'Things I want to do Before I Die' are again two beautiful poems that struck a chord within me.
