Knit Together is sure to please readers with its funny anecdotes, bible passages, and directions. This book helps readers to redefine success. There is more to success than money. Success is being happy and content with your life, it is finding God’s plan for your life. "When you are truly passionate about something that God has designed for you to do, things unexplainably click." We must be courageous and step out of our comfort zones if we are to be a success.

Debbie Macomber includes hints on how to get organized and how to find balance.  Women need a balanced life. We are pulled in many directions. Someone always wants our time. We need to learn to say no. The most important message in this book is to stay close to God. Incorporate prayer and worship into our daily lives.

This is a delightful book. The reader will find life changing advice inside. It is well written. This is a must read.

I must admit I do not read a lot of fiction and had not heard of Debbie Macomber before picking up this book. I really liked the fact that I could finish a chapter in a short period of time and it would fill me for the day. I felt that the simplicity was one of the best parts about the book. Some inspiration based books can often be too long and too deep and if you are not in the right mind frame can be very hard to get into. Not so with this book. I found it just right to pick up in the morning, read a chapter, have thought for the day and still feel good. It really touched home on a lot of things with me. I actually felt like Debbie could be someone that lives across the street from me that I could become good friends with. I look forward to reading some of Debbie's fiction and hope that "Knit Together" will have a companion book. P.S. I did not feel that she was singling out any religions (as a previous reviewer suggested.) I feel "Knit Together" is just a good, basic Christian women's book not matter what part of the Christian community one belongs to.

I loved this book. As I was reading I felt almost as if Debbie and I were friends and just chatting. Her love for God is profound and her writing such a blessing. This book is encouraging, insightful, and uplifting. It is filled with so many ideas for becoming closer to God and even a little more organized with ideas for goal setting. I will probably read again and I will certainly recommend it to others.

As Debbie shares her struggles we can all relate to what she has gone through. Not only is Debbie's book inspiratonal for day to day life it also motivates you to deepen your walk with Christ, a reminder that He is at the center of all we do and who we are. We all have something we want to accomplish in life, be it something we believe to be out of reach, or to be a good wife and mother, whatever it may be, Debbie reminds us that God has a purpose and a plan for our "dream" and that He is right there with us. I believe this is a "must read" for every woman, old and young.

She is such an inspiration to all. She has helped all of us to realize that life is not easy, there are many ups and downs. We all have to realize that God is there for all of us and to help us guide our ways. She had a lot of good points.

I am a Debbie Macomber fan and faithful reader. However, this book of non-fiction was of true value to me and not just an enjoyable read. Mrs. Macomber got me to thinking about challenges and opportunities in my life here and now. Age is of little consequence to our dreams and desires to be of value in this world. Pray about it and get moving.

Debbie Macomber has written an excellent book for small groups to study. Using images and analogies that will be familiar with women everywhere, the author guides us to spiritual growth and relational intimacy.

Her chapters on "balance" and "laughter" are especially well done, and so useful in our stress-filled workplaces and families. Women of all ages, but especially married moms, will find this book refreshing and fun.

Don't wait for your group to choose it --- go ahead and read it on your own! But if you're leading a women's small group, consider this book as your next study title. It's very readable, very well organized, and will produce encouragement and hope among its other good results.

Well-written and encouraging: an inspiring read!!

This was the first story by Debbie Macomber I came across and I know it will not be the last. She tells about the rough times she and her family went through and what kept me glued to the story was her struggles to become an author. The publishing companies who rejected her works are probably right now kicking themselves. As an aspiring author her words encouraged me not to give up in which I will use.Whether it is fiction or nonfiction,I will be a fan of her works.

Debbie Macomber's Knit Together starts out with a wonder introduction by Liz Curtis Higgs who calls Macomber a savvy mentor who helps point the way to our God-given purpose in life. An outstanding first nonfiction book, Knit Together is written so that each chapter addresses an area that the reader is created for, such as created for purpose, created for dreams, created for success to name a couple of the twelve chapters, ending with created to worship.

Using knitting as an example, Debbie discusses how God created us and knit us together to form someone special. This insightful book is motivational, inspirational, and encouraging from the viewpoint of someone who understands. The stories she shares about her friends and family allow us to see the real Debbie and to realize that she really does care. Knit Together is like a fireside chat that is meant to draw us closer to Debbie and to God. We get to know her, not just as the beloved novelist, but also as a mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.

Most chapters begin with scripture from Psalm 139 and a quote to ponder. Each chapter is short enough to use as a daily devotional, and yet provides enough spiritual, mental, and emotional depth to ponder during the day. Sidebars sporadically appear throughout the book tying in how knitting relates to life.

Leading by example, Debbie opens up her heart, soul, and life as she reaches out to her readers. She then encourages each of us to reach out to those who need us. Knit Together is a strong Christian book providing women with the inspiration and motivation we need to live a long and healthy spiritual life.

I highly recommend Debbie Macomber's book, Knit Together...Actually, I am reading it through for the third time and taking notes. This book is an easy to read, in depth and from the heart of the author. She has inspired me to examine my purpose as well as given me courage to write. Since I read her book, I have written one article that was published and a story that wasn't, but I got a response to both of my works. What a rush. Enjoy!

Macomber offers a Christian perspective of why we, as humans, are here and offers a plan for becoming fulfilled. She begins by recommending that one create a purpose or mission statement that draws a life pattern and helps establish balance. She provides a method by which to prevent guilt over saying "no" when others keep one too busy to work within your purpose, or pattern, and she encourages making a plan and working the plan in order to achieve goals.

Interspersed with her practical wisdom are humorous anecdotes from Macomber's personal experiences of how she became an overnight success in only twenty years. Macomber fans will enjoy this look into the author's life and find encouragement for seeking their own fulfillment.

Alison Pickrell

I have not read any of Debbie Macomber's other books, so I am not yet a fan. As a writer, however, this book spoke straight to my heart. She writes about how she became a writer and how she realized the Lord had guided her straight into this field. She speaks to her readers about finding their path, whatever it may be and to listen for guidance from above. Great job!

For those who don't know Debbie's life story, it is one of great inspiration and perseverence--she talks of the long struggle she and her husband went through in their early years together. It took great faith for them to keep going when Debbie was struggling to get published. The message repeated throughout this book--you have a calling, a purpose God put you here to achieve, and you must continue to believe in yourself and work toward your higher purpose. Very inspiring. My only complaint: as she says, this book was inspired by the many talks she's given over the years, and it feels kind of repetitive, almost like each chapter is a separate speech instead of part of a cohesive whole. But overall, an uplifting book about incorporating faith into one's life from someone who seems to have a genuinely sweet and kind heart.
