Kipp The Copper Coast Kid by Paul Day is set in the 1950s, in and around the historical Moonta Mines. Moonta is a small town in South Australia and the Moonta Mines are located there. The book depicts the adventures of Kipp, who is a local lad. The Moonta Mines are, naturally, famous for mining. This book is a love story, adventure, and drama all rolled into one. The historical angle of the story is also an interesting part as the story progresses.

I enjoyed the book mainly because it was a break from the usual fantasy and sci-fi mystery stories that one mostly finds nowadays. The book reminds one of the classics written years back in terms of style of writing and plot. The book will touch the hearts of many young readers. Kipp is a young boy who comes across as an endearing and lovable character. Kipp and his friend Nip make a great duo. The author's writing is versatile and surreal. Emotions like love, courage, and honor run through the story, making it a highly recommendable read for children.

The story has sub-plots and side characters that add to the pace and adventure of the plot. All the characters are well sketched. The friendship between the two families of two different cultures and beliefs has been handled well by the author. The narrations and the details are descriptive, making the book interesting and you feel the characters coming alive. It is a beautiful story that will leave a lasting impression on your heart.

Kipp the Copper Coast Kid

This book will delight you from the Prologue to the last page. It is a very touching and sweet and endearing story about a young boy on the cusp of becoming a young man, his adventures, his love and his courage. You will be gripped by the easy dialogue between the well developed characters and flow of the story.

The author creates an unforgettable story that will become a favorite of all YA and rest along side some of the famous classics such as Huckleberry Finn, Robinson Crusoe, and Tom Sawyer. It is a story that you will want to read more than once and then once again.

Paul G. Day is an extremely talented and versatile writer with an eclectic selection of books sure to please everyone's tastes. He is an author to watch as he reaches a meteoric rise in fame due to his incredible work.
