"Kids Helping (Following God's Gold Rule)" is written by Mia Pinto. This Book was created as a child's pop up book offering a life lesson having a religious tone. The book's layout and design is simple and sweet with kid friendly pictures. The story itself is short but sweet offering stories of kindness and helpfulness for children. The message and storyline comes from the Bible (Following God's Gold Rule). The Children in the story help one another and it makes them feel happy to do so. The simple daily things that can happen to a child and their friends are found throughout the book. When little upsets happen during the day, it is nice for a child to have someone to help them and care. The book shows that it is good to help and be nice to each other, as God would want you to.
"Kids Helping" is a short story, with creative, homemade pictures. The story itself can be used as a reference and learning resource for parents /schools /and teachers. It exhorts readers to be kind to others so that you will be treated the same by them. The story is talking about God's Golden Rule and thus is of religious genre. Therefore, those who are familiar with and believe in Christian faith are the people most likely to enjoy this story and the message behind it. I enjoyed the story and creative pictures. Most of all I loved the Lesson pages at the end. After reading the book a child can complete the lesson pages themselves, as a group, or with a parent/ teacher. Offering discussion questions and further activity pages allow the student/ reader to better understand the reading.
