Jack wanted to build houses like his Daddy when he grew up. It was time for Jack to go home and his Daddy said he would be back home soon with a surprise for Jack. What was the surprise and was Jack happy with what his Daddy got for him? Let us read the story and find out what the surprise was!

Jack and His Father Build a House by Colleen Baxter Sullivan is a wonderful story that speaks about the bonding of a father and a son in a beautiful way. Rachel Flannery's illustrations are as adorable as the story and the characters and breathe life into the story and make it palpable. The characters and the plot are real and relatable, and young readers will be able to connect with Jack, his parents, and their loving family. It is a good book to use for storytelling sessions at home and in classrooms where there are small children because the sentence formation is simple, neat, and easy to understand. Books like this are good to introduce to children when they start reading because the vocabulary is simple and the illustrations give clarity to an author's words.
