Irish Dancing Girl is a cute illustrated work from Mamma Macs. The simple and childlike rhyming scheme will have your little ones rhyming every other sentence and laughing about the fun moves and costumes in the story. I liked how there is an element of traditional Irish Dancing here that most definitely comes from an expert. It was a very fun read! Mamma Macs knows what little girls like to read, and that's about dancing and other little girls like themselves. I would have loved such a book as a child, and Irish Dancing Girl has the added bonus of encouraging kids to get up and dance instead of sitting in front of television and computer screens all day long.

The colored pencil drawings and illustrations used in the book were cute and could easily be attained by any reader who is looking to be arty themselves. I think this sort of drawing is very easy for children to relate to and can encourage them to become artists themselves when they see that they can draw some of the characters from the books they are reading. Irish Dancing Girl is a cute addition to any little one's bedtime bookshelf. I would say to introduce this one early while your little one is very open to different cultures so that they too may become enchanted with Irish Dancing and start begging you for lessons! Mamma Macs is a very skilled writer, and I wouldn't hesitate to get my next children's book from her.
