Into the Mist by Sharon Mikeworth will appeal to fans of science fiction, romance, drama, and mystery with a paranormal twist. Cheyenne Tanner rushes out of her house after witnessing an ugly scene that involves her husband, Brent, and a nineteen-year-old neighbor, Serena. While driving away, Cheyenne enters a thick mist. An old road leads her to a once imposing and now uninhabited Victorian mansion. Intrigued, Cheyenne explores it. Old photographs and gravestones reveal the history of a family that lived there at the end of the nineteenth century. Cheyenne decides to stay in the house for some time but an unexplained anomaly takes her to a bygone era. Augustus Moore, a man from the old portraits, captures her heart. Cheyenne must solve a mystery of the past to save their future.

Sharon Mikeworth's Into the Mist will make the brokenhearted believe in love again. The author precisely conveys the ambiance of the late nineteenth century and examines the Victorian woman's role, comparing it to modern standards. Cheyenne is a true fighter. She undergoes a personal tragedy, but it doesn't make her cynical. She stands up for women's rights yet respects the customs of a different era. Cheyenne is a great example of acceptance and bravery. Augustus is an excellent romantic hero, and we immediately understand why Cheyenne admires him. This bittersweet, thought-provoking tale has enthralling elements of suspense and a nail-biting mystery as its centerpiece and even a dose of horror. I highly recommend this captivating novel to fans of historical fiction. The narrative offers a thrilling ending and a touching epilogue concludes this gripping novel.
