Interstellar Reporter Danica Star: Unto War by Ross Loren Lindrud is a thrilling science fiction novel set in the 30th century. The story starts with journalist Danica Star and her cameraman Walter as they traverse space in search of breaking news stories. Armed with their courage, training, and a thousand years of journalistic evolution, Danica and Walter pursue a story and find themselves in a potential war zone in the Vega star system. Meanwhile, on the planet Aremis, ravaged by the first attack, a group of orphans led by Billy is fighting for their survival and attempting to reach safety on a nearby space station. As the threat of war looms, the characters' fates intertwine, and their survival is at stake.
Ross Loren Lindrud has done an excellent job of translating the intricate lore of the popular video game Star Citizens onto the pages of a novel. The characters are relatable and dynamic, and his writing style enables us to empathize with each of them, including the alien enemies. The tension and high stakes of war are masterfully executed, with fascinating technologies and space combat strategies incorporated into the story. Interstellar Reporter Danica Star is a captivating and action-packed read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The tension and the high pressures of the war are brilliantly executed, with pacing that is right on point, with the suspense building throughout the story, leading to a satisfying conclusion.
