Instant Meditation: How to Meditate Instantly! by The Instant Series, after briefly extolling the virtues of meditation, describes the techniques that are available for practicing this. As a prelude, the book mentions the need to prepare oneself to accept little changes in the way we perceive things. Indoor and outdoor meditation, visualizations, in-the-moment meditation techniques, stationary meditation, and chanting meditation are some of the other topics discussed. Certain salient features like flying away from negativity, cleansing the mind and achieving positivity, and techniques seen among Buddhist monks also feature in this book. Sets of questions are provided in many places and at the end to enable self-assessment.
As the name implies, Instant Meditation: How to Meditate Instantly! makes meditating very easy and even for those who are always on the move. This book is a practical guide and many methods, mostly of simple convenient steps, are described to achieve the desired state of mind. Planting meditation is a modified version of the traditional sitting meditation. It is called ‘planting meditation’ because you are planting your feet into the ground like a plant. It can be done in any public place — at the office, at school, or on the train. This is thus a nice little instruction manual containing practical and usable techniques, specially suited for those with time constraints.
