Instant Focus: How to Get and Stay Focused at What You're Doing Instantly! is another new book from the Instant-Series. Do you have a problem zoning out in meetings? When your kids are talking to you? When your spouse is talking to you? If so, you may have a problem maintaining focus. This author has some tough words to say, and they are even more difficult to hear. He maintains that lack of focus is a lack of respect. If you don’t respect your boss, your spouse, or your children, that is inexcusable and must change! If you hate your job, it is disrespectful to keep working there and you should find something that suits you! In the meantime, you have to realize that it is a blessing to have a job when there are so many homeless and jobless in the world.

What are the reasons a person might lack focus? Tiredness, too much on their mind, too much going on around them at the moment (barking dogs, television, or while driving) can all be factors affecting one’s focus. And what can you do about it? Change something (like get up and walk around). Break your task down into manageable “bites” and get up and stretch after each section is finished. Reward yourself for staying on task as long as it takes. Another tip was to “give me 5 more.” You can always walk 5 more minutes, or write 5 more sentences, or eat 5 more cookies — just kidding!

Instant Focus will help me in my day to day life. I do lose focus from time to time and when I think of it as a lack of respect, I am more motivated to make changes. This book would be great for anyone who is too busy since that is frequently a cause of lack of focus.

The very beginning of the book asks a lot of us. Basically telling us we're weak for not trying to maintain focus. But, then again, it's really hard to maintain focus in every day life with all of the attention grabbing we receive. Technology, instant messaging, everything coming in so fast that we don't have time to really sit down and think about what we're doing.

This book teaches us the foundations of a healthy body, including proper rest and how to take care of issues when they arise, even if you're brain is not there at all. We must challenge our bodies and minds especially in relationships. These require so much energy that we may not even realize. Our kids need our attention 24/7, even if we don't necessarily feel like being a parent that day. It's a matter of a developing child, like your developing focus, needing your attention and support.

Personally, my own focus was in question when I even considered this book. I felt like I was having trouble paying attention to the world around me, getting caught up in my own head. So I figured a short little book wouldn't hurt to tell me what I needed to do. The passion and voice behind the author makes it feel like they're talking directly to you. There was a time for you to come back and take on the world with full vigor. This book allowed me to figure out what I wanted from my life, what I felt was passionate to me, and overall who was important to me. This cut out a lot of time where I was debating if I should go out or not. It was time to stay focused on my work and leave my down time for other days. Staying focused was important to keeping on task and on point.

It's time to boost your own confidence in this book. Focus is easily attainable if you choose to keep your brain

This book in the Instant-Series intrigued me because I do have problem focusing, and sometimes feel like I have ADHD. Although not diagnosed, staying on focus has been a struggle for me, I constantly lose focus doing everything I can at once. I guess you can say multitasking without realizing it.

I was amazed by the quality of this book and actually does a fairly good job at providing useful information for you. It provides great examples and methods for you to stay focused.

Although some of the stuffs may seem unconventional and you would never have thought, however they do work. Rewarding yourself and giving you 5 more minutes I found work for me.

The book is written to help train you to become more focused. It isn't instant, it takes sometime for your brain develop focus. The "instant" thing is the quick change and action you can implement now that the Instant-Series does a good job at, but the results will vary. Just keep in mind you have to actually DO it and train yourself to avoid the unnecessary activities.
