Indy’s Spot of Bother by Lisa Domeny is the ninth book in the Team Golden Oldies series of children’s books. This is a super picture book that follows Indy in a delightful story of accepting herself. Indy was once an only dog, then her mum and dad started adopting all these new siblings. One day Indy noticed something a little strange. She didn’t have the same golden fur as her siblings; instead, she was completely covered in spots. So, she decides that she will find a way to fit in by trying to wash them away, rub them out, or blending in, but then her mum has a very special lesson to teach Indy about being herself.
Indy’s Spot of Bother is a sweet story that kids will love with adorable pictures throughout of a real dog and an honest life lesson. Lisa Domeny delivers an easy-to-understand lesson about self-acceptance and being different. This is a great book that parents are going to love to share with their children and that children will instantly enjoy. Through a series of cute struggles, kids will laugh at and love the funny ways that Indy tries to fit in while also being able to connect with and understand why Indy feels different. Parents will enjoy the endearing message of embracing differences and how the hardest thing to do is to be yourself. Indy’s Spot of Bother is a charming story of self-acceptance with delightful photos and a lovely lesson about being different that will encourage children to always be themselves.
