India is home to a diverse array of cultures, traditions, and holidays that families all over the world celebrate. In India: A Monthly Guidebook to Diverse Celebrations, author Anuja Mohla breaks down each holiday by the calendar month, as well as explains the history and meaning behind the holiday and how people typically celebrate it. This is the perfect teaching tool for both kids and adults alike. I was surprised at how many holidays I had never heard about, and it was truly wonderful to learn about all the different customs and traditions celebrated in India. The book is accompanied by beautiful, colorful drawings by Gowthami Maruthupandiyan that your little one will love.

Learning about people's cultures and holidays is a great way to celebrate each other. It brings us closer together and reminds us how much we truly have in common with one another. India: A Monthly Guidebook to Diverse Celebrations by Anuja Mohla does an excellent job of introducing these holidays and traditions in a child-friendly way. My favorite holiday that I learned about was Rakshabandhan, the celebration of the love between siblings. As someone who comes from a large family (with 5 siblings), it is so special to have a day where their bond can be celebrated together. This book is a good classroom and household tool for your child and is written in a clear, understandable style. This is a fantastic way for young readers to learn more about the diversity in India's cultures and holidays. Overall, I loved this little book, and would definitely recommend it to any family.
