Rae Yung’s In Chadwick’s Eyes is a story about a young boy named Chadwick who is more than just an average boy. Just like any other child, Chadwick faces challenges and hardships in his school that he grows accustomed to, even on his birthday. That is why he is excited to go home, hoping there will be a surprise for him that could make up for the bad day he was having. However, he found something much more than what he bargained for. Chadwick is full of curiosity, and this curiosity has led him into a situation too complicated for him to understand. Can Chadwick handle this new challenge he is about to face? Come and join Chadwick in his journey full of surprises.
In Chadwick’s Eyes is a fast-paced, unique, well-written story that depicts a parent’s love for their child. Rae Yung conveys a story that is not like any other story I have read before. It has a refreshing idea filled with interesting twists. It is also filled with relatable situations like how parents do everything for the benefit of their children. It also has valuable lessons to teach us. Going through a journey of self-discovery is not an easy road to take but, in the end, it might give you the answers to questions you have been asking your whole life. The simple yet delightful illustrations by Zuke Llogs made the story more entertaining to read. Overall, the story was praise-worthy and wonderful. I enjoyed reading In Chadwick’s Eyes until the very end.
