Two dolphins had a healthy baby girl named Gemma but she was different, she was pink. The two dolphins were not bothered as they loved her with all their hearts. When Gemma grew up she was cute and she enjoyed playing with her toys. She made sandcastles with her friends Harvey the turtle and Lizzie the seal. Gemma also liked to spend time with her parents and feel the sun on her fin. Her favorite color, purple, was used for celebrating her fifth birthday, and then it was time for Gemma to start school. She was scared that the other dolphins would not like her because she was different. Her mom told her to just be herself and she would not have a problem making new friends. The next day she went to school and everything was fine till lunchtime. What happened after that? Would Gemma be able to make new friends?

I'm Pink! So What? by E.H. Hong is an adorable story about self-acceptance, self-confidence, and being different. It is a good story to encourage children to be comfortable in their own skin and be happy with who they are. The illustrations are charming and delightful and they give clarity to the author's concept and words. Tutors and parents can use this story to help students and children accept their differences and still win new friends. The positive and uplifting message in this story is inspiring and motivating, and that makes it a must-have in school libraries and in a personal library. The message is just not for children but it will also help adults look at their differences with a new perspective and embrace them happily and willingly.
