I’m in a Leadership Role, Now What? is an educational self-help guide written for students by author Chris Molina, which labels itself as ‘A Concise, Practical, No Nonsense Guide to How College Students can Strengthen Their Leadership’. Intended for young people who perhaps find themselves in positions of responsibility and leadership for the very first time, the volume offers practical advice in a variety of areas to strengthen their leadership and their understanding of the concept of what it means to lead. Covering everything from communication style to study options and personality principles, the book offers a model of behavior that young people can train towards to seek professional leadership positions in the future.
Although this book is designed as a student edition, I believe that the helpful principles and guidance within would suit any new leader of any age as a basis for moving forward with their careers. Author Chris Molina really knows how to write for the aspirational but not-yet-skilled reader, empowering and educating at the same time without making the reader feel that they are lacking at any point. I found the elements on communication to be really useful, particularly in engaging with other people and acknowledging the team that could be working under you in your new leadership position. It’s clear that Molina is passionate and ambitious himself, and that inspirational flavor runs through his excellent work with strength and positivity. Overall, I’m in a Leadership Role, Now What? is a highly recommended guide for anyone who aspires to lead others in their lives.
