Robert Balchus was born in Philadelphia, and is a UCLA graduate. Actor, novelist, screenwriter, and producer he has worked with the top international names in film and tv both in the U.S. and Europe. Among his works are Mauro Bologni's award-winning FAREWELL MOSCOW, starring Liv Ullman, Sergei Bondarchuk's mini-series AND QUIET FLOWS THE DON, starring Rupert Everett and Ben Gazzara, and "spaghetti western" director Pasquale Squitieri's THE THIRD SOLUTION, starring Danny Aiello and F. Murray Abraham. He presently resides in Rome (Italy) where he conducts Workshops in Intercultural Communication, coaches writing and is an American Quarter Horses buff.

I, Angelo, Great Great Grandson of Buffalo Bill by Robert Balchus is a thought provoking read from page one. Not only did Balchus capture the essence of Italy, he portrays the Wild West and Buffalo Bill Cody in a manner that is intriguing from the start. Having known many things about Buffalo Bill Cody, and having been to his grave numerous times on top of Lookout Mountain in Colorado, the Wild West is right there from the start. This story is rich in the way human emotions and life experiences are woven in an intricate fashion. Every emotion possible comes into play in a manner that keeps one turning the pages to see how it ends. Honest love, pain, steadfastness, and horses in tune with the heart of the true rider make this amazing.
This book is well written, and Balchus shines in the mesmerizing way in which this story is told. It has a nice steady pace that is also fast at times. There is time travel to be sure, and at times I felt like I was on a roller coaster; one that I had to ride to the end in a couple hours of reading. This story is well woven so that one becomes part of the entire process the protagonists and antagonists go through. I highly recommend this book to young adults and up. No matter your age, if you like the Wild West and want to read about Italy, then this is the book for you!
