We live in a world now that seems to get offended easily and it is a hard job for comedians to be able to drop their jokes and places that will be receptive and willing to listen. To laugh today could cause one to lose friends. But Kasen James, the author of How to Pull the Stick Out of Your Ass shows readers how to lighten up. With easygoing humor and a serious tone, in this short read the author mentions genuine fears that more than a few Americans share. The author smartly suggests that even if there’s an audience who won’t find him funny, there is an audience who will. Kasen James also explains the inner turmoil he went through upon hearing the results of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections. He had little idea of what the future would bring, primarily due to consuming thoughts of Trump and all the emotions that surfaced with the change.
After some time of dwelling on the new and not so improved state of political affairs, an unsettling revelation finally hit Kasen James in 2018. He was reading a book and laughing at the protagonist when it dawned on him that he identified with the guy, a loser. This realization became the author's wake-up call and prompted him to turn over a new leaf in an attempt to become great again. How to Pull the Stick Out of Your Ass is a very quick, light-hearted read. It is entertaining for those of us who are interested in what the future generation is feeling and thinking as we experience political transitions--for the better or for the worse. I encourage this author to continue doing his thing--mulling and writing--with his light-hearted, all-American politically incorrect humor in the effort to make America great again.
