How To Burn A Rainbow: My Gay Marriage Didn't Make Me Whole, My Divorce Did is a groundbreaking memoir by Karl Dunn. In it, Karl shares the story of his divorce and journey to self-discovery. After seven years of marriage, Karl thinks that a honeymoon in Vienna would reignite the passion between him and his life partner. Yet he realizes that no matter how much he tries to fix the marriage, the same problems resurface. Karl also realizes that he has lost his way and identity, tolerating undesirable behavior from his partner to keep the peace in his marriage. After finally admitting that nothing will ever change between them, Karl informs his partner that he wants a divorce. However, he soon learns how challenging it is for gay couples to divorce because of laws not written for them. He also discovers there's no such thing as an amicable, cheap, easy, or quick divorce.
