Rudy the Rooster loved sharing his voice. When he was young he always had trouble figuring out how he should sound. At first it came out like 'Gluck' and no matter how much Rudy tried, it came out all wrong. He was in the pen with another rooster and two hens. His pal Roadie the Rooster sounded normal and though Rudy kept practising morning, noon, and night it came out all wrong. He went to the other farm animals asking for help. Will Rudy the Rooster get his voice?

How Rudy the Rooster Got His Voice by Gina Bittner conveys a good message to young readers: 'No matter who you are, what your challenges are…Don't Give Up!' The message is powerful and will encourage every reader to stay motivated, accept themselves, and will give them the confidence to be who they are. The illustrations by Kelly Kingsley breathe life into the characters and the scenes, making the story appealing and captivating. I like the way the author and the illustrator gave Rudy a personality that is strong yet gentle, making him lovable and adorable.

It is a good storybook to read out in classrooms and school libraries to encourage and motivate children to be who they are and work diligently towards what they want to achieve. It is a good bedtime storytelling book and can be used also at home by parents and grandparents to motivate their kids and grandkids and make them think positively.
