Hour of The Beast by C. Michael Forsyth is a fast paced thriller. It follows the story of Elaine, who suffers at the hands of the beast one evening in the woods. She later gives birth to twin sons: Jason who is small, frail and fearful of animals, and Joshua who is wild, strong and athletic. One of the boys discovers a secret message of the moon by age five. They both grow up and go to college, not knowing who their biological father is. They must figure out the curse of werewolf-ism and come to terms with who they truly are. Once Jason and Joshua begin to unravel the mystery of their true identity, the plot thickens and takes a drastic turn of events. You will learn not only who their father is, but the irony that follows their mother's journey, as well. The end will leave you guessing and wanting more.
In an era of popular vampire and werewolf-themed movies/books, this book is uniquely written so that it is different than any werewolf story I have ever read. It has an intriguing storyline that is full of suspense and terror just waiting to entice the reader. I can easily imagine this novel turning into a movie or television series.
The story is clear and concise; it moves along quickly with suspense and excitement in each chapter. The turn of events and irony was very well thought out and truly unique. Hour of The Beast is very easy to follow, but very difficult to put down. It does not disappoint and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
