In the "Hot Buttons Drug Edition" the author starts off with the why when and hows, with insight into how to use this book. Then it goes through substance abuse, alcohol, inhalants, OTC and prescription drugs and illegal drugs. This book is a valuable resource for anyone working with teenagers and the subject of drugs is one that we need to talk freely to our teenager about because they hear the subject spoken about everywhere, even our small children. One really special thing about this book and the 'Hot Button' series is that it gives parents and teens a chance to talk about difficult subjects and gives advice on how to approach the subject. The book format is easy to follow with each chapter giving so much information about its subject as well as a challenge and checkpoints. With this and a study guide at the end of each book, the questions are already there for discussion, making it much easier for both the young person and their parents.
I highly recommend "Hot Buttons Drug Edition" for any parent because for parents, there is no learning this stuff too soon. The more we know as parents, the more knowledge we have to help our children. I love these books since they are written for tween/teens, depending on the subject. If you have younger children, they will be this age before you know it, so grab a copy of these books for your home library. You may be surprised the impact these books will have on your family. Another thought for this book would be small Youth group studies. My copy is going to our Youth Pastor as a resource for their studies.
