Morgan, ever practical, a young widow with a son, Liam, is trying desperately to make ends meet. It is just before Christmas and the last thing she needs is a big car repair job. But Liam promises Brant cookies, so how could he refuse to help? And when Morgan offers to feed him supper once a week, he’s hooked. He does more than change the one flat tire; Morgan’s car is almost as good as new once Brant finishes caring for it. So who cares about who more? And is it Brant’s Christmas wish or Liam’s? Tia Marlee’s Christmas romance, His Christmas Wish, is the first book in the Piney Brook Wishes. The story is told in the first person narrative from either Brant’s or Morgan’s point of view. Each chapter is labeled with who’s speaking, so we don’t get confused. The plot moves forward at an even pace, following the two main characters as they confront their growing feelings for one another. Characters are well-developed, and dialogue effectively moves the story along. The characters are almost too perfect especially the little boy, Liam, but then again, this is a comfortable read, and that’s what we hope for; perfect characters. A refreshingly clean read.
