Hey Lil One: A Book to Honor Black Lives by Jianna Brown is a book based on the black lives matter campaign. This book is for both adults and children as it has a message for both. The story is told from a parent to their child, listing and suggesting all of the amazing things they can do when they grow up, even in a world where black people are still being treated differently. It aims to provide the young reader with confidence and to live without fear. For adult readers, it simply wants you to stand up for what is right, and to be kinder and compassionate to others. The world needs to change so that black people's lives are no longer at risk. Please purchase a copy of Hey Lil One and educate anyone who could do with learning this important message.
Jianna Brown's book, Hey Lil One, opened my eyes to what black people go through. I am fully behind the black lives matter campaign and this book will make sure other people are too. The story is simply written so that younger readers can understand the message the author is trying to teach. It's annoying that the phrase "black lives matter" exists because it should be "all lives matter." It's horrible and unimaginable to think of what black people experience when growing up in a world full of fear and threats, simply based on the colour of their skin; it is unacceptable. Hey Lil One will have an impact on anyone reading, as it did with me. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone, and I hope it helps to shape the world better for everyone, no matter their skin color. Keep up the good work, Jianna Brown, because your book will be successful and effective!
