Two kids in different towns, a conflict of belief and values, but what can unite them? Here by Jennifer Ball is an inspirational story featuring two compelling characters, young believers who profess to be born again in the faith. The only problem is that one of them is so committed to living the call of her faith and the other uses faith as a cheap escape from the punishment for a lawless law. Joshua loves to party. He loves the booze and the girls. Abigail finds refuge in her faith and surrenders her life completely to her Lord, but she has her hurts as well. These two teens who live in different towns are bound to meet, and this book is the dramatic outcome of that encounter, a touching story of the power of faith and the inscrutable ways of God.

Here is a beautiful story, told in lucid and powerful prose, a story that is very relevant to today’s rapidly changing world. Readers will love the conflict, developed with mastery and created to drive both the plot and characterization. I loved the way Joshua is conceived as a character and the transformation that takes place within him is quintessential of the power of Grace. The book also poses thought provoking religious questions: Is it enough to say “Jesus is my Lord” to be saved? Clearly not! This book shows readers what it’s like to be a Christian in a world with changing morals and values. Jennifer Ball crafts an inspiring story that is as beautiful as it is entertaining.
