In Healing Your Inner Child, author Lila Hart does a fantastic job of helping the reader relax and settle in for a discussion that most would rather avoid. The reader is quickly engaged with the author as she tells of her own experiences and difficulties. The reader knows that it is more than a textbook filled with perfect answers. Instead, this is more of a workbook or a laboratory where the reader can reveal what has happened in their own lives in a safe environment. Hart gives some insightful wisdom as to how a person may be feeling from the events in their youth and how these events may still be impacting them later in life as an adult. Quickly the reader sees how when a person cannot escape the trauma they experienced as a child, they bury it, thus creating a worse, more toxic situation.
When the reader follows the outline in author Lila Hart's book, step by step, they can find ways to expose what happened earlier in their life and also tools to deal with the trauma. There are many wonderful thoughts throughout Healing Your Inner Child that give the reader much insight and things to mull over so they can find the help and healing they are longing for. This book will help bring closure to many open wounds. Later in the book, the author guides the reader to begin their work and examine their issues. If the reader allows themselves to be open and accept the challenge, they can find clarification and victory over their previous defeats.
