Many of us do not like changes. Sure, they can bring something good, but there is always a risk that something will go wrong. Savanna is not happy with a change in her life. She is the young protagonist of Susie McMichael's Happenstance Farms: A New Home. When she has to go to Happenstance for the first time, she is worried about having a new barn and a new trainer, Miss Ellen. The only good thing is that Coffee, Savanna's pony, is waiting for her at Happenstance, but who knows if our girl will be able to make new friends there? Do you want to be one of them by joining her in this adventure?
Happenstance Farms: A New Home is a book that explains to young readers the value of friendship (both between humans and between people and animals) and invites them not to fear what awaits them. Savanna's feelings are understandable by any child who has had to go somewhere new for the first time. However, it takes very little to feel at home, and Susie McMichael has proven it by telling a delightful story. If you are warmly welcomed upon your arrival, and especially if you are willing to make friends, you will not have to worry about being rejected. My invitation to the young readers of Happenstance Farms: A New Home is to have fun reading Savanna's adventure and not be afraid if something similar will happen to them, too. The moral of this story is that there is a chance to make new friends everywhere you go.
