Lauren Beck is back and she is about to be thrown into a mystery deeper than she has ever investigated before. Should Frank let her attend the funeral being held in the Caribbean? Given the go-ahead, Lauren slips into undercover mode and sets about finding out what happened, and who, if anyone, was to blame for the sudden death of her sister-in-law’s brother. She knows that the secret to succeeding is in keeping friends close and enemies even closer, under her watchful eye. Did he commit suicide or was he murdered? This time, it's personal.
Guilt Trip: The Mystery (A Lauren Beck Crime Novel Book 2) by Donna Huston Murray is more than just a simple murder mystery. With so many twists and turns and with the plot deepening, Ms. Murray takes us on a journey we will never forget. This is an incredibly descriptive book, a story that allows you to be drawn into it, coming alive as though you were actually there. The character development is excellent and, although I never read the first book, I feel as though I know the main protagonist very well, along with the rest of the main characters, such was the level of detail included. This is an exciting book with a solid plot and is written to grab your attention from page one and not let go until the end – an ending that you won’t see coming.
