I really liked the premise of Greyhound Therapy by J.R. Conway. I guess I didn't realize that the practice of shipping transients and those suffering from mental illness out of town on a bus was something that was done. Now that I've been exposed to the idea, I can see how many problems that would cause for the place the people are being sent to. I think this is probably a bigger problem than most people are aware of, so it is nice that there is a book that talks about this issue and makes people aware of it. Even though it is a fictional story, if it makes people stop and think about what is going on in these people's lives, then the author has done a great job.

I also love a good mystery. I love following a police detective around and watching how he works his magic. How he finds clues and solicits information from interviews and witnesses. How missing trucks are found and evidence is gathered. I think this was a nice addition so the story isn't just about social problems, but wrapped in the larger picture of trying to deal with all of these issues while still doing a person's job and keeping a town safe from escaped prisoners and mental patients on the loose. This is a nice combination that is unique but still works, and I think people will enjoy reading this story to learn more.
